A Rich History of  Fine Craftsmanship in New York Since 1946

Fred Bauerschmidt Sr. established Bauerschmidt & Sons in 1946. His sons Fred and Robert became involved in the early 1970’s, and as cabinetmakers themselves, they continue the tradition.

Today Bauerschmidt and Sons is located near Kennedy Airport in New York City, in a 28,000 square foot facility equipped with a broad range of the latest in equipment, both traditional and high-tech.  With a 70 person staff -- over 50 union cabinetmakers, some of whom have been with the firm for over 20 years, as well as 20-plus in project support – Bauerschmidt and Sons' collective knowledge can address any millwork challenge, large or small, with equal skill and care.

Bauerschmidt and Sons' approach to the craft of cabinetmaking is simple, though rare in today’s world – to give clients and their projects the utmost care, attention, and technical expertise to help realize the creative vision of the designer in a truly distinctive piece of cabinetry that gracefully stands the test of time.
